Why use these forms?
"Two painters reported that, for the first time ever, they have received payment schedules by mid month so that they know what is going to be paid and when. This has a huge beneficial effect on their cashflow management. In one instance a progress payment was reduced, somewhat arbitrarily, by $45K, and the contractor forwarded a second cheque within days after having been reminded of their responsibilites under the CCA."

" It is important to note that the use of these forms is not mandatory - but they are a best practice guide for improving the standard of presentation of claims, payments and variations, and in complying with the requirements of the Construction Contracts Act."
" Getting claims and payments right is the first step in using the CCA."
" Subcontractors are encouraged to use the standard forms, to adjust their own stationery or develop their own spread sheets to achieve the same result. Head contractors are expected to encourage their subcontractors to use these forms simply because standardisation makes the administration of payments and variations easier for everyone, which must lead to faster payments."
